KELD

Keld is home to Butt House, previously run by Doreen Whitehead, compiler of the Coast to Coast Accommodation Guide. Doreen and her husband are now enjoying a well-earned retirement, and Butt House is in the safe hands of Trish Griffiths and Linda Birkett.

For past visitors to Keld, the good news is that Keld is no longer dry - that is in the alcoholic refreshment sense! The former Youth Hostel has been upgraded and has reverted to its former name of Keld Lodge. It has a public bar and a restaurant, and they are in the process of establishing a micro-brewery. Hurrah!
