Wordsworth
Cottage is a cosy Grade 11 Listed cottage built in 1670, in a quite
location in the picturesque village of Patterdale and 1 mile from Glenridding
and the shores of Ullswater. Once owned by the well-known poet William
Wordsworth, a friendly welcome awaits you to this historical cottage
where we offer 2 newly renovated, comfortable and individually decorated
double/twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms and tea/coffee facilities.
There
are no TV's in the rooms for your added peace and quiet, but we have
a cosy sitting room to watch TV. We also have a drying room and off
road parking.
A hearty
English Breakfast cooked on the aga will set you up for the day ahead
where the area has lots to offer.
The cottage is ideally situated for walking with the towering Helvellyn
visible from the front door and being only 100 metres from the fell
gate leading you onto Place fell and the High street range for the Coast-to-Coast
walk, and 200 metres from the path of the popular lakeshore walk that
takes you to Howtown or Pooley Bridge where you can return on the steamer.
