Formerly a seventeenth century shepherds cottage, Bents Camping Barn is situated on Bents Farm outside the village of Newbiggin-on-Lune, on the Coast To Coast Route.

It has recently been refurbished and sleeps fourteen people in bunk beds in the two sleeping rooms on the first floor.

The ground floor has a cooking area for self-catering as well as a dining section and W.C with washbasins.

Other facilities include an electric convector heater, a microwave, three electric cooking rings and lighting and power points run by a £1 coin meter.

This is an ideal place for walkers to stay as it is easily accessible from The Coast to Coast Route and is well located for fell walking and mountain biking. You will need a normal camping kit including a sleeping bag, warm clothes and obviously a sturdy pair of walking boots.

Charges for one person per night are £8, and it is possible to book the whole barn.

You may also camp at a cost of £4 per person per night.
