This series uses the 1:25 000 scale and consequently are printed on both sides. These are an excellent choice for the best detail, covering a much larger area than the "Wainwright" strip maps, although you have to buy more of them.
Each map is available in two editions - the basic paper map, which is fine for route planning, but not as well-suited to the rain and the wind as the Lamfold edition, which is encapsulated in heavy gauge polymer. But the downside of weather resistance is weight (and price!) so the choice is yours.
